Camping Profession Crafts and Buffs guide for WoW Forever
How Camping Works in WoW Forever

Setting up camp in WoW Forever is a straightforward process. Once a player places a campfire, nearby adventurers can contribute a camp item crafted through their own profession, adding its unique benefits to the campsite.
Check all the crafted camp items here.
To activate the bonuses, simply sit beside the fire using /sit and wait for one minute. You’ll see a buff countdown begin, followed by Camp Benefits — a single buff that combines the effects of all items placed at the campsite and lasts for one hour.
Each player can contribute one camp item per cooldown cycle, with the action triggering a one-hour cooldown on all their camp items. Campsites can accommodate three, five or ten items, depending on the size of the campfire.
It’s worth keeping in mind that camping buffs are weaker versions of certain class buffs and do not stack with their equivalent effects.
New players can also complete the optional starting-zone quests The Great Outdoors and Camping 101 to learn about the system. However, these quests aren’t required to receive camping buffs. The campfires provided by the quest givers also grant the rested experience bonus associated with the Camp Tent.
How to Make a Campfire in WoW Forever
All you need is the Cooking profession. Visit any Cooking trainer to learn the profession, and you’ll automatically receive the Basic Campfire Kit at Cooking skill level 1.
To craft the kit, you’ll need just one Simple Wood, which you can purchase from Trade Goods and General Goods vendors in most towns.
Once you have the materials, open your Professions window using the hammer-and-pick icon on the menu bar (Press “K”). Select Cooking, craft the Basic Campfire Kit, and use it from your inventory to place a campfire in the world.
You no longer need to carry separate stacks of wood and Flint and Tinder to build campfires. Instead, craft several Basic Campfire Kits in advance and keep them in your bags or mail them to yourself to save a bag slot.
How to Upgrade Your Campfire
The Basic Campfire is only the beginning. Larger campfires can accommodate more profession-crafted camp items, increasing the number of buffs and services available at a single campsite.
However, upgrading to these larger campfires requires a Blueprint, so keep an eye out for the recipes needed to unlock the next tier of Camping.
| Campfire | Camp Slots | Materials | Recipe |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 | 1 | Comes with Cooking | |
| 5 | 1 | Dropped by: Lord Serpentis in Wailing Caverns | |
| 10 | 1 | Currently unknown |
Profession Camp Items and Upgrade Tiers
Every profession in WoW Forever offers three tiers of camp items, unlocked at profession skill levels 20, 140 and 300. Cooking is the exception, with two tiers available.
The first-tier item is learned directly from your profession trainer, while the second and third tiers require Blueprints — special recipe items that unlock more advanced camp equipment.
Tier 2 Blueprints drop from dungeon bosses, with the relevant dungeon encounters listed in the guide’s individual profession tabs. The sources for Tier 3 Blueprints have not yet been confirmed.
Do Higher-Tier Camp Items Replace Earlier Benefits?
Check all the crafted camp items here.
Although each new tier replaces the previous item, you don’t lose the benefits provided by lower-tier versions. Higher-tier camp items retain all the effects of their profession’s earlier tiers while adding new benefits.
For example, a Blacksmith’s Master Forge provides the Strength buff from the Sharpening Wheel, the anvil functionality of the Anvil, and the additional benefits of the forge itself.
This means you don’t have to choose between a profession buff and a useful crafting station when upgrading your camp equipment. Each new tier builds on the previous one, making higher-tier items more versatile.
The individual profession tabs list only the new benefits introduced by each tier, rather than repeating effects already available from lower-tier items.
| Skill | Camp Item | What It Does | Materials | Recipe |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 20 | Mana regeneration buff, doesn’t stack with Blessing of Wisdom | 1 1 | Trainer or Camping 101 quest | |
| 140 | A Fermenter, needed for a few Alchemy recipes | 1 1 1 | Dropped by: Rath’mael in the Ruins of Lordaeron | |
| 300 | An Alchemy Lab, needed for some Alchemy recipes | 1 1 2 |
Crafting Stations
Many crafting recipes in WoW Forever require access to a specific crafting station, such as a Tanning Rack, Spinning Wheel or Loom. These facilities are particularly important for players looking to craft more advanced items as they progress through their professions.
So far, these stations appear to be available through the Camping system rather than as standalone facilities in the open world. This makes campsites an important part of the crafting experience, especially for recipes that require specialized equipment.
The easiest solution is to find a campsite that already has the station you need. You don’t have to own or contribute the crafting station yourself — any player at the camp can use the available facilities.
Before heading out to gather materials for a crafting session, it’s worth checking whether a nearby campsite has the station your recipe requires. Finding the right camp can save you a trip and help you make the most of your time in Azeroth.
To place your own:
- Get your profession to the required skill.
- Get the station’s Blueprint and learn it.
- Craft the station, put down a campfire or find an existing one and use the station from your bags.
