Merchant’s Favor, Durotar Supply & Azeroth Commerce Authority Reputation Guide

This WoW Forever Merchant’s Favor guide explains how the system works, where to find the Durotar Supply and Logistics and Azeroth Commerce Authority camps, how to earn Merchant’s Favor and reputation, and which profession recipes you can purchase from their vendors.

How Merchant’s Favor Works

Merchant’s Favor is a special currency used to purchase profession recipes from the faction supply camps. To earn it, players need to collect and complete Waylaid Crates.

Waylaid Crates can drop randomly while exploring the open world, and they can also be purchased from the Auction House. Each crate requires a specific set of materials. Gather the requested items, fill the crate, and deliver it to the appropriate camp to receive Merchant’s Favor.

However, currency alone isn’t enough to unlock every recipe. Many of the more advanced recipes also require a certain reputation level with the relevant organization.

Reputation is earned by completing Craftsman’s Writs. These tasks ask you to craft a particular item and deliver it to the customer who requested it. Completing writs helps you build reputation and unlock access to additional recipes.

Where to Find the Merchant Camps

There are two organizations associated with the Merchant’s Favor system, one for each faction:

• Durotar Supply and Logistics: The Horde supply organization.
• Azeroth Commerce Authority: The Alliance supply organization.

Both camps feature recipe vendors covering every crafting profession, including Cooking. Although the organizations serve different factions, both camps offer the same selection of recipes, so the recipes available to you aren’t determined by which faction you play.

Visit your faction’s camp to turn in crates, complete the relevant activities and browse the available profession recipes. If you’re planning to unlock several recipes, it’s worth working on both your Merchant’s Favor balance and your reputation at the same time.

The Horde camp is in The Barrens, just outside the west gate of the Crossroads.

The Alliance camp is at Three Corners, on the west edge of Redridge Mountains.

How to Earn Merchant’s Favor in WoW Forever

Merchant’s Favor is earned by filling Waylaid Crates with the requested materials and delivering the completed crates to your faction’s supply camp. The currency is character-specific, meaning each character must earn its own Merchant’s Favor to purchase recipes.

How to Fill a Waylaid Crate

Follow these steps to turn a crate into a reward:

1. Find a Waylaid Crate. These crates drop randomly throughout the open world and can also be purchased from the Auction House. Each crate requests a specific type of material. One example is the Waylaid Crate: Apprentice Textiles.
2. Supply the requested materials. Right-click the crate to see the available material bundles, then choose one you can provide. For example, a crate might request 40 Linen Cloth or 20 Light Leather. Once filled, the crate becomes a Sealed crate bound to your character.
3. Deliver the Sealed crate. Take it to your faction’s supply camp. Horde players can turn in crates to Dokimi, while Alliance players can deliver them to Marcy Baker. You’ll receive Merchant’s Favor and a silver reward for your delivery.

Waylaid Crates and Rewards

Filling a Waylaid Crate transforms it into a Sealed crate of the corresponding rank and color. Delivering the sealed version to your faction’s camp grants Merchant’s Favor, with the amount depending on the crate’s rank.

The system includes several crate categories, each requiring different materials. Textiles, Ore, Herbs and Curiosities crates require raw materials, while Fabrics, Ingots and Parts crates require crafted goods.

Blue Sealed crates and a Sealed Elite Crate also exist, although their exact rewards have not yet been confirmed in this guide.

Before filling a crate, check its available material bundles and compare their costs. If you’re buying materials from the Auction House, choosing the cheaper option can help you earn Merchant’s Favor without spending more gold than necessary.

A crate needs only one of the bundles in its list, not all of them. Use the cheapest ones.

Apprentice

You need level 10 to open these.

You also get 2 50 for a white crate and 5 for a green one.

How to Earn Reputation

Turning in Sealed crates does not grant reputation. Instead, reputation with your faction’s supply organization is earned by completing Craftsman’s Writs — crafting orders that require you to create a specific item and deliver it to a customer somewhere in the world.

Once you reach Friendly reputation, empty Waylaid Crates can also provide reputation through the crate return system. This offers an additional way to build your standing with the organization after reaching that milestone.

The first time you fill a crate or start a writ, you also get a Shipping Label. It starts a quest to your camp, which gives 2,000 reputation and 50 Merchant’s Favor.

Craftsman’s Writs

A Journeyman writ gives 75 reputation, an Expert writ 125 and an Artisan writ 200. You can do each writ once a day, and as many different writs a day as you want.

1. Get a Craftsman’s Writ. In the open world they drop as a Sealed Journeyman’s Writ, Sealed Expert’s Writ or Sealed Artisan’s Writ, an envelope with a random writ of that rank inside. You can also buy writs on the Auction House.
2. Right-click the writ to start its quest, for example Craftsman’s Writ: Lesser Wizard’s Robe.
3. Make the item it asks for or buy it on the Auction House. You don’t need the profession yourself.
4. Bring the item to the customer, your map shows where. The customer takes the item and the writ, and you get the reputation and a Coin Pouch with some silver. Writs don’t give Merchant’s Favor.

Crate Returns after Friendly

At Friendly, you unlock the Uncertified Scribe in your camp, Kurvelk Shadowhoof at the Horde camp and Dianne Softstep at the Alliance camp. Both sell the same two items:

1. Buy a Forged Delivery Receipt from the Uncertified Scribe.
2. Buy a Waylaid Crate on the Auction House. The receipt seems to work on any of them, so buy the cheapest one.
3. Use the receipt on the crate. You get a Notarized Shipping Container.
4. Hand the container to the same NPC who takes your Sealed crates. You get the reputation and 1 silver.

A Certification unlocks the profession’s title for every character on your account, for example “the Alchemist”. A character needs 300 skill in that profession to show it.

The Advertising License Application starts a quest for a Tradeskill Sign toy, an Orcish one for the Horde and a Dwarven one for the Alliance.

Recipes by Profession

Both camps sell the same recipes for Merchant’s Favor. This is what each profession gets:

• Alchemy: potions and elixirs.
• Blacksmithing: mail and plate sets for tanks, melee, healers and paladins, and three weapons.
• Cooking: 6 smoothies that give Spirit.
• Enchanting: necklace, weapon and armor enchants, relics (idols, totems and librams) and caster weapons (staves, off-hands and wands).
• Engineering: bombs, thrown weapons, goggles, belts, trinkets and gadgets.
• Leatherworking: leather and mail sets for every role, and two armor kits.
• Tailoring: cloth sets for every spell school and for healers, and two reagent bags.

Armor and Weapons are Bound on Pickup.
